Last Patrol volunteers honored Navy veteran Ray Riley, Sr, who is in hospice care.
Ray completed High School while in the Navy. He spent 4 years assigned to the Franklin Roosevelt Aircraft Carrier as a Shipfitters Mate, and completed 2 Mediterranean Cold War cruises with the ship.
After military service, Ray went on to a 36 year career with the Post Office, retiring as a Supervisor. While working he earned an Associates Degree in Industrial Management. Ray and his wife of 63 years had 5 boys, all of whom became Eagle Scouts.
Ray is a lifetime supporter of Boy Scouts of America, and an The American Legion Department of South Carolina and Kiwanis International member.
Having served our nation, our country owes Ray and all veterans everlasting gratitude.
