Last Patrol volunteers in Central Florida honored Chuck, a Korean War Army veteran, in hospice care.
Chuck was born in 1933, in Des Lacs, North Dakota. After high school he attended Business College, where he earned an associate’s degree in accounting. Chuck joined the North Dakota National Guard unit in Minot, ND. Called to active duty during the Korean Conflict, he was deployed to the war. In Korea, he served as a clerk/typist for a Colonel at the Command Post. After 14 months of service, he returned to his Guard unit in Minot.
Following military service, Chuck pursued a career in aviation. He worked for North Central Airlines, which later became Republic Airlines, then Northwest Airlines, and eventually Delta Air Lines. Chuck dedicated 42 years to the airline industry before retiring.
In September 1964, Chuck married Phyllis, and they enjoyed 49 years of marriage together, raising eight children. Chuck and Phyllis relocated to Lake Wales, Florida, to enjoy their retirement.
We were assisted in the ceremony by the Lake Ashton Veterans Association. Today, Chuck is in hospice care with Compassionate Care Hospice.
We salute you, Sir, as you proceed on your Last Patrol.
